Hi
I have 1975 Fulvia 3 with 6x14 Cromodora which are too wide so I bought some used 5 and half x 14 Cromodoras, when they went for a refurb and were striped they found all four had hair line cracks so the wheels can not be used, see pics.  My question is are they all like that as they are 40-50 years old?

I am not an expert but I have always believed that genuine magnesium alloy wheels ( which yours are) only had a certain life and if damaged or corroded were tricky to repair.
There have been other threads on this Forum on just this in the past.
I think you will have to show your wheels to one of the very few real expert magnesium alloy wheels companies in the UK to seek their advice and to see whether anyone will touch them..

It seems that magnesium alloy would not be a wise choice for longevity without regular expert inspection once past a certain age. Seeing what's happened to yours it would certainly put me off buying any that were from the Fulvia days. That said, has anyone ever heard of one failing?

My wheels are FPS (a factory option) and I'm hoping they're aluminium alloy!

I have a friend who specialises in the repair of damaged aluminium wheels. But I know he'd take one look at that lot and say weigh them in for scrap. They look lethal!

Had mine recently inspected due to the age 52 years old y Tanc Barratt.
All confirmed to be in good order.
Like all things always worth keeping an eye on them.
The joy of owning a classic Lancia.
