I have managed to get my recently acquired series 2 running and it makes a rhythmic knocking on a hard left turn in first gear. My initial thoughts are CV but i have nagging recollection of this being symptomatic of a deeper gear box issue. I'd be grateful if someone can shed some light on this - thanks

CV joint (left) a likely cause, but if there is also a rumble it could be the wheel bearing (right).

Have you recently had new tyres fitted recently ? sounds crazy but  for months I chased a knocking when turning hard left went through the CV theory + many other avenues, turned out being the internal wheel weights clipping.

Hi Richard, any updates on this on your Fulvia?
Interested to see if you have resolved the issue.
