As can be seen in my 'flaminia' thread, when I removed my push rod ends, metal fatigue became apparent in the rods, so I had some new pushrods made.  Thanks for the 'header' information image.

Some heating and the lifter end of the rod came of quite easily.

I shortened the rod just shy of 3mm in the lathe, and added a drop of green Loctite before pressing the rod back together.

The shortening gave me a good amount of room for adjustment.

I am a little puzzled by your pushrod problem.
Are the pushrods the original ones from your engine Torstein? And have you taken much metal off the face of the block and the cylinder head faces?
I am assuming you havent fitted non-standard valves.

Yes, I am a little bit puzzled myself.
An explanation might be that the engine is a bit of a mash-up of different bits and pieces.

The engine block is number the 4497, which I believe is late 4th or early 5th series?
The heads (which were 84mm in height when I got them, and has only been lightly skimmed ) is stamped 18.2.58, which I think would be a 6th series date?
The lifters are the type with the hole up on the side, which is a later kind?

-the  pushrods came with the car , but it might not have been fitted to the engine block , perhaps only included with the sale, as the contract stated that the car should be "complete"
-I have not taken any metal off the block, and only minimal skimming has been done to the heads
-the valves are new valves, sourced from Cavalitto

IŽll add some pictures in the next post

…the valve seats were refreshed, so the valves sit a little bit deeper I guess.
This combined with a light skim of the head might add up to be the cause?
