Of course the other reason is someone back in the day swapped the transmission (for a Berlina....). It happens a lot in Lancia land.
On all Aurelias the final drive ratio is stamped on the underside of the transaxle casing fairly close to the riveted blue plate showing the model and build number.
Might be worth a look?

Have you managed to look at the underside of your transaxle yet to establish what final drive is actually in the car?

bit late but might help
The picture shows the plates on the transaxle, these are on the side. The number 813 11 means a berlina with the 110bhp engine, the number 12 refers to the 12/47 final reduction (the 47 is obscured by gloop)
 a 2.8 coupe should be sporting a plate with 826 030 or 031 and the final reduction should be 13/49 giving 3.77. I understand from reading Longstones website you will need pukka Cinturatos as they are taller see the link https://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/classic-car-tyres/lancia/flaminia.html#123
