I’ve long harbored the desire to own an Augusta, and now I do!

Attending the recent Lambda Lunch at the Pheonix Hartly Wintney I ventured into Nick Benwell’s workshop and there stood the ex Gerald/Lance Batt and late lamented John Millham 1935 Berlina JR 3864. Nick was preparing it for sale as part of the disposal of John’s estate and I was smitten! Consulting with model aficionados James Parry, Don Williamson and Mike Wheeler it became clear that it was a good buy, and so I did. It's an absolute sweetie and in need of very little work to get it on the road and I hope to be out in it very soon.

Now, I know a bit about the Dilambda! But nothing about the Augusta. However, James is very kindly emailing me copies of his father Morris’ monthly Augusta News Letter from 2012 which are packed with invaluable information. I'm also trawling back through this section of the Forum.

Some requirements:
4 x Hubcaps
Rear quarter bumpers
Petrol gauge and tank sender unit

Can anyone help please?

Robin

Cavalitto sells tank sender units. I think a petrol gauge is offered on the internet, I will check. You will need the tube and wire between sender and gauge.

Best wishes

Petrol gage: https://www.partscollector.com/mod_auto.php?id=169 Company located in the south of Switzerland.

There was another one offered on Autobelle, but can't find it anymore.

Hub caps: Those offered by Cavalitto are for the late model Augusta. For your car you want one of those visible on the attached pictures. One held by a centre bolt, the other type held by the wheel nuts. Most probably quite rare.
On the same pictures, you will see the type of bumpers for your car.

Took the Augusta to the Kent and Sussex Border Christmas Lunch and it performed beautifully. Even Margaret was complimentary!

Two of the three items requested in my first post have materialised, James Parry supplied a fuel gauge and Ken Couzens advertised hudcaps in VL - six would you believe! Many thanks to you both. Tank sender unit still needed - Cavallito new ones around £600 delivered!

Would like to find some original style bumpers like those in Karl's picture.
