1.6HF (Fanalone) spare wheel mounting straps position

Can anyone get me measurement of where the leather strap eyes are mounted on the boot floor - that hold the spare wheel in place.



The eyes on my car are to one side  (filler side) and do not hold the wheel, and the jack holder is compromised.

Hi Tim
Would love to help but on a 1.3 (S2) the spare wheel is clamped down via a stud from the boot floor rather than using a leather strap.
Hopefully someone with a 1.6 will respond soon!

One of my S1's has a spare with a strap over it. It has an internal tank, but it looks like this has been fitted around the original position of the spare wheel. I can take a few pics and measurements - but are there any specific details or reference points that you're after?

Solved the mystery today. For those with original S1 1.6HF this is the config. The straps and mountings where ther but the wheel being on the horizontal the straps did not do up. Some detective work with the parts book and the Lancia Fulvia bible showed the wheel should be angled against the inner wheel arch covering the jack. as per photo. Then the straps work perfectly! It does not look angled but it is and there is a vertical bar on the rear panel to stop the spare wheel making an impression.

That is probably right Tim.

Mine has always been done this way…see photo..flat on the boot floor, by threading strap through wheel slots. Either way, if the wheel is reverse side up, it’s a really useful place to put the tool roll, which seems perfectly shaped to fit in the wheel…..plus spare plugs/filters/points etc.

There is a cover which holds all the items in place, which covers approximately 2/3 of the tread, suggesting the wheel is in fact stored on a tilt.

Thats interesting Charles. Being a pedant (or maybe my parts book is wrong) There is no cover listed for the 1.6HF. Maybe it was a weight issue... Anyway I have those covers on my other 1600HF with wheel inverted and cover fitted into the centre and tool bag on to in this well. The straps on this car are original and where they want to do up is with the wheel where it is.
