Displaying your Lancia & Other Models
« on: 30 July, 2008, 01:10:45 AM »
For years I've been ogling display cabinets in which to show off my mostly Lancia models, however, I've always balked at spending £150+ for something that hangs on the wall & wouldn't hold too many of them anyway.
Problem solved, while recently perusing Akea for bedroom furniture I came across this glass display, it's available in white or black and all for the sum of £35 ;D I was astonished and promptly bought one, it's very heavy (glass) and you need someone to help you as it's like a load of jelly until you get it assembled and tightened.
But it's great value.
Sorry about picture quality, still using my phone while waiting to replace my camera broken at the FOS, I've also changed my phone to one with a 5/MP.

Hi Roger,
You want to see the photo of the rest of the room that I've cropped ::)
Only problem is I need another one for the rest but nowhere to put it .

Lets have a look how everyone else displays theirs.

Unfortunately for me...... in the loft is the only place the Mrs will allow  >:(
Not sure if a photo would come out (or I'd be able to find them all if it came to that)

ah we're (hopefully) about to purchase a house, just when everyone else isn't buying, so prices are very soft here in Ireland, when i get around to getting a garage built, i'll be able to display my many F1 & italian car models!!

BTW does anyone do a good range of 1:18 models of Lancia/Fiat/Alfa?

Nice display cabinet Brian. I've been looking for one that you can hang on the wall for a while now but as you said they're not cheap! I was thinking of making one out of wood or maybe metal. Cheers, Rob

Hi Brian. I have one of these, although it was a whopping £50 when I bought it a few years back. However, the models have been shunted out of it in favour of the other half's Wizard of Oz collectables....

talking of models, anyone know what a Kyosho 1:18 scale Stratos is worth? Not the usual ones, but a limited run of 1000 with Alitialia livery, on a plinth with  the car "drifting" with mud effect over the car?
