Just looking at the thread started by OldRacer in March 2023. He mentioned the 123 ignition system. The thread then diverged in a different direction so thought I should start a new one. Apologies if this is not 'the way things are done'.

123 is offered by https://projectshop.co.uk/upgrades/electronic-ignition/ at £219 + VAT. Bicester, so perhaps easier than Omnicron for most got get to, and less expensive than the price suggested by OldRacer. Suspect they fit more of these than Omnicron which must be an advantage.

I am considering this for both my Fulvia and my Alpine. Interested if any has experience of 123 in general and Project Shop in particular. Also fancying their starter motor upgrades.

I am off for a rally in Asturias in May so trying to do everything in advance to increase my chances of reliability!

Nothing wrong with points set up unless the distributor is worn. Properly set you should be able to drive for 10000's miles. Just make sure the points and condenser are for good sources.

It has been been known with 123 fitted with a hotter coil (20kv) to burn out ignition leads and sometimes plugs. Also if you are having say a Brantz navigation equipment they are very sensitive to ignition noise and copper ignition leads will definitely caus problems....

For reasons relating to my wish not to relearn how to set points and a hope for greater reliability, I fitted a 123 ignition. I also had new plugs and leads (the leads were changed, I think, to try and get rid of interference I could hear through the radio). Can't remember whether the interference was resolved but I changed the radio to a modern (old look) type and no longer have the problem.

No idea about rally clocks.

For vanity reasons I fitted the side exit distributor cap though the vertical one works. Needed a bit of fiddling to get it timed up and pointing in the right direction so the leads were nicely arranged.

What rally are you doing? A proper one with regularity and tests or a touring type?

I think a 'proper one', tulip. Organised by a Spanish classic car owners club. I have a Madrinelo first cousin who is part of the club; he is lending me his first born as navigator. He has (more than) a few cars but is entering for himself a 1967 Flavia Coupe so we have a Lancia team.

Think I may be getting something Brantz before the event so slightly worried by LanciaLulu comment.

Brantz works well with standard coil and carbon leads. Buy the fiat gearbox pick up.....

I have fitted a 123 to my S2 coupe, the original was worn, no issues to report, I know of several 1.3, 1.4 and 1.6 Fulvia owners who have them too.

I’ve just rebuilt a spare distributor and fitted an electric ignition system which replaces the points and condenser. There are only two components, a magnetic trigger ring which fits over the cams and electronic module which replaces the points. I bought this unit at an exhibition in Italy and subsequently learned that Powerspark in the UK do an almost identical kit (ref K25) for a very reasonable £39.95
I have yet to test the system but I’m sure someone else here will have experience with these. If your distributor is in good condition, this system should guarantee consistent performance without the hassle of points. Fitting the kit is simple and an idea opportunity the clean, lubricate and check the end float of your distributor. Possibly worth a try before forking out for a 123 unit?

I use a Power spark distributor on my TR6 and it is great. Unfortunately I do not think they make a distributor for Fulvia but the module as stated is a good option. On my Fulvias I run Luminition which has been faultless for last 20 years.
