Hello all. Delighted to be a new Lancia owner and a new club / forum member. I'm looking for a pair of runner boards for my Aprilia. I'm in the Uk. If that proves impossible, ( hope not ! ) then some I could look at and take measurements perhaps ? Maybe somebody has drawings ? Can anybody help or advise please ? Thank you.  |

Congratulations on your purchase, there are lots of Aprilia experts on the forum and the LMC library has lots of Aprilia information.
If you've got a 1937 Aprilia, it shouldn't really have running boards. 😀

My 1937 car (38-1427) has running boards fitted, though as Sliding Pillar points out, it wouldn't have had them originally.
The car is a long way off being together and running and you're welcome to borrow them to have a pair made if you want to do that. I can't guarantee they are original and they are currently without the strips on top (which didn't come with the car).

As mentioned above, your car would not have had them originally, but lots of people do prefer them with !
I have not seen a pair for sale for quite a while and they should be easy to make. For my Cabrio I bought half moon section aluminium strip from Woolies (I think) , rounded the ends off and then glued them on, so no drilling or fiddly clips
You will also need some of the "famous" aluminium 'T' section trim to go between the running boards and the sill, although there are some good rubber or fabric filler trims available, again Woolies I think

Thank you. Great to hear there are some experts on here. I'm certain I'll be in need of further help and guidance in the nesr future. And yes, you're absolutely right of course, my car never had runner boards originally. I do much prefer the look with them fitted though to be honest. I shall ensure they can be removed easily for originality purposes. Thank you again for your reply.  |
