Fuel smell/ failed hose.

Hi Folks.
Whilst washing off yet more mud from under the car remaining from the rally/ scenic tour we did a couple of weeks ago I noticed a wet hose from the fuel tank. I have had a whiff of fuel from time to time but never found the source. Think I have it now. It may be that this hose wasn't replaced when the car was restored and has succumbed to ethanol degradation.
It is the smaller short hose from the tank to the rigid pipe, maybe 150mm long. The rigid pipe looked to be 5 or 6mm OD.
Would anyone know the actual diameter of pipe I need and the corresponding clip size? Also perhaps the hose spec to cope with ethanol?
Thanks

I would stake money on the not being original and I always shudder when I see this type of fuel hose. I once fitted such to a Lancia Gamma and they last 2 years.
I think original fit is the green/blue Cavis Benz that the Ducati restorers use (difficult to get the original but some after market from Omicron or Ricambio is OK if they have stock). I believe it is 7/12mm so a 12-13 mm clip should work. You may need to warm the pipe to get it over the rigid end.

I'd measure the O/D of the steel line and get a hose with the correct I/D to suit that. As to spec of the rubber I would find a reputable supplier (not eBay) and use one that's ethanol friendly and fuel injection friendly.
Well, that's the plan for the Beta! Plus stainless hose clips with rolled edges.

Coline, Codan and Gates are all good brands. I have a mix of the last 2 on my Beta and no evidence of degradation in 2 years.
