Lancisti,

We've been offered to be an invited club at the Event late August 2025: https://www.salonpriveconcours.com/car-clubs/
https://www.salonpriveconcours.com/supercar-saturday-blenheim-palace/

It's on the grounds of Blenheim palace, much more Ascott Horseracing than our usual club events.
Estimating 1200 cars present from the other clubs

So just assessing interest amongst members ... We need to accept/decline the invitation in the next few weeks.

Kind regards, Mihran'.

PS: David Barzilay is our club contact for the event

It's a good idea Mihran. Is there a minimum number of cars required? If AROC hadn't have been involved I'd have said it isn't really 'us'. Probably a great day out though.

Salon Prive is pretty top notch and despite the price of entry I think we ought to be represented. We should be well able to hold our heads up in any company.

What would the time commitment be? I'm sort of interested but have no idea what I'll be doing in Aug next year.

I agree with Frank that it would be good for the club to be represented at the event even if it does appear to be a top notch event, but then Lancia are top notch aren’t they ?
I’d be happy to attend dependent on the time commitment.

Not pretentious rich people who trailer their cars to shows and never use them on the road? Appreciate the engineering of cars rather than any snob value, I'd be as happy to see a well turned out Y10 at a show as say a gleaming Aston Martin.

This looks to be a UK version of Pebble Beach. Various Lancias have won awards at Salon Privé in the past and we're one of only 16 marques/clubs invited: https://www.salonpriveconcours.com/car-clubs/

Don't think my little Fulvia would make it onto the lawn but I'd go to see some nice cars.
Oh hang on ... you've got to have a pair of brogues though ... https://www.salonpriveconcours.com/visitors-guide/what-to-wear/   Undecided

It showcases some of the finest cars in the world and I think we should hold our heads high in such company. We would need to persuade those with the very best Lancias to commit to it though. My cars are more Concourse d'Lemons but I'd be willing to buy a new pair of brogues for the occasion.

Do any LMC members still wear blazers with LMC cloth badges? Or is casual/ sports wear preferred?

Richard - Nice badge. I only have a nice vintage Lancia lapel pin that I wear to events.

Peter - Thanks for the offer of a brogues lend. You might be a plan B  Wink  Grin

My thoughts and situation match Frank's. Lancias have won awards at previous Salon Privé events (as per composite pic) but the nature of this type of show indicates entrants whose cars are rare, unusual, have some degree of historic competition involvement etc. I guess this would take looking through LMC membership and seeing who might meet that criteria ... and whether they'd be interested and available.

Thanks Scott, a lapel badge is a good discreet option. The bullion cloth badge pictured is a sample which I have recently received.  I am very impressed with the quality and the service. And the service will certainly be swift now that a pattern has been made.

Good shoes always a pleasure to wear. And hats.

My car was there a few years ago because the Kimera guys borrowed it for their stand when they were launching the EVO37 and invited us down for the first day. I think it may have just been invited people / press when I was there, or the tickets were more money on the first day, so my impression probably won't be representative of regular days and other people's experiences. I found it to be varied and generally interesting, but more than a bit pretentious for my liking. I had the feeling that the elite all knew each other (like a gentleman's club), and everyone else was being cautiously polite and trying to figure out who was who. It's not really my scene to be honest, and not something that I would rush to enter another car into, or be keen to visit again. The setting is very special though, and I'm sure the public days have a very different vibe. You can see in the pics that it was pretty quiet on my day - although, it got busier as the day went on.
