Brake/suspension reservoir

Keeping this topic apart from main restoration thread, as others may find it useful, I find the reservoir needing refurbished, kit received from Cavalitto some time ago.
Before I take a spanner, wrench etc to it, is there any advice as to the do's and more importantly the don'ts, in disassembling the same?

Be very careful when you remove the 'distribution plate' on the bottom of the suspension feed side. There is at least one ball bearing on the end of a spring, and both ball and spring will try to escape in their different ways.
It's a pretty complex unit, but logical and (to me) interesting to comprehend its workings.

I imagine you will need to hone the bore on the brake fluid side but its all very straightforward as long as you are methodical. One of the more difficult jobs might be to remove the reservoir caps - the threads can become very corroded careful heating might help if they are stuck.

Thanks for that William and Chris.
After much searching, knowing I'd saved something on this topic, I came across this, must try the 50:50 solution too!

I'm a great advocate of the 50/50 solution. One of the car magazines did a group test of penetrating and releasing products and chucked in the old method as a wild card. In the results it substantially out performed anything on the market.
