Steel spare wheel

Interestingly, I went to use my speed limited steel spare wheel the other day when I was cleaning my wheels and discovered what was in the boot clearly was NOT for the Delta 3.
The road wheels on the Delta are 18s and the spare tyre was a 125/90R15. Silly me for not checking sooner but fortunately I have not had a puncture on the road in it yet.
Being old fashioned, I would prefer to have one so does anyone have either a full sized spare or a steel one they don't need anymore?

It's not unusual for the space saver to be a smaller diameter than the regular wheels, the key is that the overall rolling circumference will be similar to your regular low profile tyres on the 18's but I'd be checking that it clears the brake calipers especially on the front ones.
Pretty sure the Delta3 shares parts and hubs with the Alfa Giulietta so plenty about to pick up for a song from scrapyards who would be glad to sell on I bet!
Just checked and my own Giulietta space saver is a 125/80R17 which is 25mm bigger in diameter than yours.
Did you try it on a wheel at all? 
Interestingly if I assume you are on 225/40R18 then your spare is only 31mm smaller in diameter, so it could well be the correct item.

I think this would be the same with integrale Evo and Evo II ? The space saver spare is the same ( I believe )

Might be a good idea to check the spare wheel well, to see if it will take a full-size wheel and tyre.
My Hf Turbo had alloy wheels but a standard steel wheel for a spare.
I thought I'd like an alloy as a spare, but when I bought one, i found the only way it would fit in the wheel well was deflated.

I may have been wrong on my assumption of the wheels/hubs being derived from the Alfa (Vauxhall) route as they look from online pictures to be 4 stud wheels rather than the 5 of the Alfa?
If so they are most likely on the 4x98 stud pattern so the FIAT range would be my port of call for finding a wheel here in UK rather than the much rarer over here Delta3 or even a Chrysler one..

The wheels are 4x98 Fiat pattern so Bravo II is the best choice as the Delta is very similar so same pcd / offset etc.  But Stilo, Multipla etc will all fit though may not have that tyre size.
If you have a handbook you'll see the specified size for the majority of the model range is 125/90/15.  In the small print it was actually a different 205/55/16 tyre & wheel supplied new if you bought a 2.0 diesel.  In which case someone has put the 'wrong' one in.
Even though we didn't get a spare wheel in the UK there's quite a bit about it in the book.
Same deal with the Ypsilon really, space saver kit from a Fiat 500 or Panda is exactly the same.

Thanks everyone.  Yes, I did offer up the spare but it would not get anywhere near the hub due to the brake caliper size. My handbook gives 2 options for space savers, the one I have and a bigger one, a 205/55 R16, which I will try to find, as you say, a call to my local breakers is probably the cheapest solution.

Apologies I should have checked properly of course.  When buying front brakes recently I was told there were 2 sizes of discs across the range, 251mm & 280mm (which I have). But of course there's actually 3, the 2.0 has 305mm.
Good reason the spare went up a size I suppose.
If you don't want to buy another wheel, if you got a front flat you could put the 15" spare on the rear & then your good 18" from the rear to the front - when I had an Impreza this method was in the manufacturer's handbook - space saver only ever on the rear because of the 4WD system!

Owning a 2.0 Limited couple of points:

1. Yes front discs are massive-my mechanic when he replaced them said car was overbraked....

2. My car has sub woofer for audio in boot well so no spare.

3. My good friend Leo Capaldi gave me  a spare but my understanding (from another website I believe) is that front discs are so massive and spare is relatively small that if you get a flat on the front you are expected to swap a rear wheel to the front and then put the spare on the back.

As a result have to say have been praying will not get a flat as suspect (given my car on Eibach springs which are lower than standard) then a flat = calling the RAC! Carry an inflator which got me home when picked up a nail luckily within a few miles from home....

Again, thanks for the feedback Gents. When I had 2 new tyres fitted to the front yesterday, I mentioned the issue to the fitter and he suggested the same solution of using the space saver on the rear, so I tried it and it fitted so apart from the handbook not mentioned having to swap a rear to the front if you have a front puncture, then all is well in the Hopkins world. Viva Lancia!
