Handbrake diagram
« on: 16 February, 2025, 11:38:54 AM »
Hi folks.

Anyone have a handbrake lever diagram? I suspect I may be missing a spring to pull the lever down. All is good with my handbrake but upon releasing it it doesn't drop down naturally and needs placing down.

Thanks.

How dry or frayed are your cables etc?
Its not the winning but taking part! or is it taking apart?

Thanks. If tge screws  spring in the lever.
Correct.
As a matter of interest do not adjust the handbrake using adjusters on cable 13.
There is a long  slotted head screw each side, that can be reached through any slot in the wheel to adjust but it's easier with the wheels off.
Do make sure these and the rest of the handbrake mechanism is kept clean and lubricated, otherwise you could be in a lot of trouble to free off.
I've found the Dunlops perform well if maintained.
But as suggested here I'm waiting for delivery of a set of EBC Greenstuff front pads to improve the performance of the brakes to assist driving in modern traffic .

I don't know. The handbrake works well, engages and disengages, just doesn't drop down like a modern car, if indeed it should?
