Hallo chaps. I have bought myself a 1973 Coupe, in need of TLC/recommisioning/ hopefully not a full rebuild. It was advertised on the Omicron site and was only 20 miles from me here in Aberdeenshire - so the gods were telling me something. Remarkably sound car, been dry stored since 2001 or so, then 18 months outside recently - ouch! Anyway, I thought if i didnt rescue it, it would suffer another scottish winter which would not be good.
So watch out for some daft questions and pleads for encouragement.
First of which, pie in the sky stuff, anyone know if someone has the chrome bonnet and wing trim for sale? cheers Lindsay

Judging by the stuff Colin Clamp has over here in Essex, the Flavia consortium must be the place to start.

Have just joined the Consortium. Amazingly, they have a choice of new or used bonnet trims! Of course having a non crusty leading edge on the bonnet would be a bonus but that's on the list of things to be done.....
photos of current state?

They are invaluable. This car has had around £8k spent on it in the mid to late 90s but then owner went abroad and has been left ever since. Needs a lot of work but couldn't bear to let it just sit and deteriorate further. It's worth more than that. Perfect specification for me. Carb version so not as complex as HF, 1972 build so free road tax (for now), webasto roof, retrimmed leather interior. No doubt loads more problems will come to light over the initial inspection, but just bought it to do up over time. If I can sell my Barchetta then funds from that will allow much to be done by next summer.
Not sure how to put photos on here Brian. Take a look at the Omicron site to see it around 10 years ago! Sadly much worse now.....

Hi Lindsay, Here's how. Once you've got to that stage where you've entered the text you will see at bottom left "Additional options", click on this and it will open a box "Browse", click on browse then find the photos you wish to download, once you've loaded the first one, alongside the browse button it says "More attachments" repeat the browse sequence to load more photos, note you can only download maximum of 8 photos at a time. if you stick to about 75 KB size for a picture it will show without having to shove the cursors about to see the whole picture. Here's how to reduce the size of a photo . I use Adobe photoshop elements 2, once into the program go to "file"-"open"- find the photo you want to reduce, click on "image", then "duplicate image" (which gives you a copy to work on without affecting the original) rename this as reduced copy. While still in image scroll down to "resize", this will then show -"image size", click on this. In the box that appears change the width size to 800, the other boxes will change to match, then click on -"OK"-go to "file" -"save as" -"save"-the box that opens; Jpeg options, shows at the bottom the new size of the photo in KB's, the box next to this shows at what download speed, if it says 56.6kbs and you're on Broadband, click on the down arrow and change this to 2 Mbps. click on "OK" if you are happy with the new size and it's then ready to post on the forum at the reduced size. Sounds complicated but it's not at all. Brian 8227

Well, it is now with me. Got it running tonight, albeit not idling. Need to drain the fuel tank to see if that makes a difference. We have a working fuel pump, spark etc but not wanting to know at idle. Closer inspection reveals not much more than the initial. Very solid, much work done. Brakes will need done, possible exhaust, all fluids and filters and go from there. I have to say I am very happy to have a Lancia again.
