I've never understood the difference in value between a spider and convertable - and my preferance has always been the convertable.  Out of interest - how many did they make of each?

Too many Aurelias at auction perhaps?
There will also be a B24 spider (B24-1046) for sale at Artcurial. This one is estimated at 260 -300.000 €.

David, regarding numbers produced:
Spider B24 - 59
Spider B24S - 181
Total spider: 240
Convertible B24S - 150 + 371 = 521

Have a look at:
http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lancia_Aurelia_B24#Le_tre_serie_della_B24

This wikipedia page has a LOT of information about all Aurelias!

Here's another B20 GT at auction ....

http://www.classic-auctions.com/lotdetail.php?&lotid=26375&aucid=26915

Seems a few owners are taking advantage of the ever-rising prices of the Aurelia.

Hope they all find good buyers,

Adam

The owner of that car was at the NEC. I had a long chat with him. I believe he bought the car from a collection in Italy last year (or so) and had it restored (refreshed ?) at Omicron recently. Price seems a bit stiff.

To get three out of four cars away in this current climate is encouraging, all of them at solid prices as well.

The only failure was clearly optimistic at that estimate.

Interesting to see how the Ex-Lancia UK B20 GT 7 LME goes at H&H in a few weeks.

The Aurelia spider at the Artcurial sale did not sell. The estimate was 310.000 €.
However one of the very few cars sold was a Fulvia Fanalone that went for 45.272 €.

Adam,

What a fantastic photograph! Thanks for posting it.

Presumably this is the Johnny Claes 1953 Liege-Rome-Liege winning car on what looks like an interesting mountain pass, but where does the photo come from? If it’s from a book, please tell us more.

Colin

Glad you liked the pic though cannot add any info on who it is or where it comes from.

In moments of boredom, I occasionally Google "Aurelia B20 GT" and find all sorts of historical pics and then just save them to my PC ... so here's another one for your further viewing pleasure.
