likewise - my dad's HF4WD had the best steering of any car he'd tried in 50+ years of driving!

I would have voted for the Simca Ti since I had one of those back in the seventies. It was only my second car and was fast and, to a teenager, very cheap!
But since I've owned Integrales for the last 13 years, it had to be that. And really!, it's a much better car than the Simca. But hooray for them reminding me of my youth...

Just voted.
I'm surprised the Saab has done so well as its not the typical idea of a hot hatch. I thought it would be the usual suspects such as the Golf GTi, 205 GTi and the Clio Williams.
We had a Clio Williams 2 before the integrale, great fun car, superb handling AND ride but let down by a very rough engine. Still it turned out to be a very good deposit against the Delta. Couldn't believe the step up in performance when we drove the integrale home from Walkers, 10 years ago now! Emma was only 4 then and the only way we could get her out of the Williams was to get the salesman to 'promise ' to keep it for her until she was old enough to drive! Now she wants the Fulvia as her first car and probably wouldn't speak to us again if I tried to sell either of the Lancias!
