Has anyone seen the Movie called "The General" about a notorious Dublin gangster, in one scene the getaway car is a black Dedra driven at speed through Dublin streets. Interesting , starring Kevin spacey  as the General.

And talking of Dedra, one appears in Gomorrah (original title Gomorra), a film about the Napoli mafia, recently shown on terrestrial TV.

On one of the documentary channels there was a programme last night that follows an American classic car dealer - 'Chasing Classic cars' In last night's programme he was getting an Aurelia ready for auction and part 2 (sorry don't know when its on) will be at the auction. Fine looking car that needed some work to the engine. The mechanic - who admitted he had never worked on a Lancia before - soon had that out though and with a twirl of his socket set had it sorted and back in! Quite thought provoking!! I think the phrase is 'buyer beware!'

Is that a White Flamina saloon in the trailer for 'Tinker, Tailor,Soldier, Spy'? Only the rear nearside quarter is in the shot.

Clocked a lovely side view of a silver Beta HPE on Minder last Saturday. Also remember seeing a Delta 1500 from the rear in another episode.

Its actually the film Ordinary Decent Criminal and its a grey Dedra driven by Colin Farrell!

A British film of 1959, "Hidden Homicide" includes footage of an English bodied Astura being used by the baddies in a car chase through the streets of suburban London. I have tried to find clips but so far without success. No doubt due to my incompetence using t`ìnternet

You can find the whole film on youtube, this bit gives it an honorable mention:

There is a rather good chase involving a Bentley and a Lambda in the 1968 Hammer film The Devil Rides Out. You can see it at the beginning of part 4 on the YouTube clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28d2RcbJ48w&NR=1
The sequence in fact begins at the end of part 3, and if you persist a little further into part 4 you will see what was then John Maltby's Lambda (now Tony Stephens') among the assembled cars.
Maltby's car appeared again in Camp on Blood Island where it was apparently destroyed by a grenade (Tony will probably find the dents under the back seat) but clips of that film don't appear to be available.

Re Camp on blood island, I think the Lambda belonged to my dad at the time, as i remember him telling me something about they paid for a new windscreen to replace the one  that was cracked in the filming.BCO was the second car that i travelled in as a sprogg Smiley

ER5421 belonged to a Mr A Livingstone, from Ealing, London, circa 2000, but I think it has since been exported from the U.K.

As Ade says, ER 5421 is now in Italy.  It was pretty tired when Arnold Livingstone had it and even tireder after The Devil Rides Out, but it had a distinguished history.  It was built up by Alec Park who was a partner of Terry Breen in his car breaking and dealing business in North London, using a fifth shell with the scuttle extended, the rear suspension lowered and an eight series engine fitted.  Here is a picture of the car with a proud Alec taken, judging by the cowled lamp, sometime during the war.  The car was later owned by Wells Coates and here is the famous picture of him with the car that appeared in Vogue.

There is a very brief glimpse of a Lambda Casaro in "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir" very near the end when her daughter arrives with her boyfriend.
