Hillman Imp I think, but I don't see the connection unless the Stratos was built in Paisley?

The answer is HILLMAN IMP as you say John.
They have Mike Parkes in common, since he as a former driver for Rootes and developed the Gp 5 cars.

Well done, see - it makes sense now.
Mike Parkes was a major part of the development team for both the Imp and the Stratos (separately of course). In between, he did a bit of driving for Enzo Ferrari. Mike died in an accident in a Beta HPE, I'm trying to avoid that but to paraphrase Battista Pininfarina, my HPE is the car I will drive to heaven in.
