I've decided that one of my Gamma saloons needs to go to give me the time to concentrate on the menagerie of other Lancias. So, here are the details:
1979 Gamma S1 Saloon. Silver over dark grey, with factory electric blue leather interior. Early car with analogue clock.
The Good Points
Gamma is "on the key". It starts, stops, doesn't overheat, the power steering works perfectly. Clutch good, gearbox good, engine sweet, approx 55k miles. The electric windows all work, the period radio cassette works, all other electrics work (with the exception of the electric door mirrors), the door mirror backings are like new and generally it is a sound, together and decent example of a Gamma saloon, which drives beautifully
Structurally he is very sound - no underbody welding known to be needed. Rear turrets good, inner front wings good, sills good. Exhaust good (not bodged and patched).
The bad points At some stage in the car's life (possibly early on) it has been "2 toned", and a glass pop-up sunroof fitted. It's not offensive but not factory original. The main issues are some of the cosmetics. Doors fundamentally good, but the bottom corners of the rears have started to bubble. Bottom of each screen pillar will need attention. The O/S/R wing is beginningto bubble at the top, and that rear arch has obviously been repaired at some stage in the car's life as the profile isn't quite right. (A new rear wing is included in the sale). There are some signs of micro blistering on the bonnet, but this is only noticable in certain lighting conditions.
The oil level guage on the dash isn't working, and there is a slight oil leak from the oil pressure sender. The tyres are all a bit old and really could do with replacing. Currently not MOT'd. Not for any reason other than the fact that i haven't got arround to it and haven't got the time to spend on it with a Delta 1500 to get ready for AGM, another Gamma saloon to get back on the road and 3 other Beta saloons!
Well, there we go. I have tried to be as realistic as possible in the description. What it isn't is a concours car. What it is, is a very presentable, head turning interesting, fast, stylish, reliable well mannered saloon. Very few still on the road, so go on. Dare to be different!
Please message me with your e-mail address and I'll send a load more pics to you. I am based in Wiltshire, just outside Chippenham.
As for price - well, I have a realistic figure in mind. A good home is probably ultimately more important that getting the maximum number of £'s, so lets have a chat!
