My dipstick on the 1.6 engine is about to seperate, the metal stick  is coming away from the rubber top.

Need to find a replacement quick before the thin metal bit disappears down to the sump, I was given a stick put I think it from a 1.3 because it's not the same !

Many thanks

Hi Steuart,

According to my series 2 parts book (which covers both 1.3 and 1.6) there is only one part number for the dip stick, so it should be the same for both the 1.3 and 1.6 engines. The one you were given might be for an earlier 1st series Fulvia which might be different (I cannot say as I din't have a 1st series parts book).

Hope that helps?

There are 4 different part numbers for S1 engines, one of which (1109551) is the same as the S2 part number, for the standard saloon.

The S1 1.6 dipstick is different from the S2 1.6 because of the bigger S1 sump - I don't know the differences between the others.

If I understand correctly Steuart's 1.6 is a series 2 Sport so any series 2 dipstick should do.

My series 1 parts books shows Model 818 540 1.6HF
dipstick part number 1108993 which doesn't appear to be used on any other model.

Thank you to all who answered to this post.

Picked up a dipstick from Richard today so it appears the 1.3 and 1.6 are in fact the same item !

Thanks again Richard.
