anyway , back to the plot, we arrived in exeter at about 9am LONG TRIP!!! followed the sat nav (against alans instructions) and ended up a little lane, a little VERY ICEY LANE!!! where we met an even icier hill, i turned to warby and said i'm gonna go for it!!!! BIG BIG BIG MISTAKE!!! if you can imagine a single track lane .......sheet ice....... we got about 200yrds up the hill in second gear then the van and trailer started to go backwards!!! due to severe lack of control the rear of the van went over towards the drivers side jackknifing the trailer into the bank on the passengers side
warby gets out to try and bounce the back of the trailer over , i look in my mirror to see santa rolling about on the floor and the trailer still wedged in the bank!! i was absolutly howling laughing warby wasn't amused
i got out to assist and we succeeded in moving the trailer, however niether of us had anticipated what would happen next, 2 tons of ducato and trailer sliding down the hill at the pair of us!!
big moment to say the least !!, at this point a local turned up with his dog and seemed amused by santa rolling about on the floor yet again, i managed to get into the van through the n/s before we lost the pair into a field and had to do the worlds biggest burn out trying to stop the van and trailer dissapearing off the side of a mountain!! we managed to un couple the trailer and turn it around , at this point alan had found us and led us the route we should have taken in the first place!!
this is a very cut down version of the events that happened, i'll post the photo's of the truck on my other topic in this section but here's a few tasters........
