Alloy paint

Can anyone recommend a paint for items such as bonnet catches (on a 2000HF)? I'm not sure what kind of metal they are, some sort of alloy which doesn't seem to rust just gets very tarnised. Cleaned up they look all right but would really like to make a good job of them.

I have just used regular car paint ( rattle-cans ) on alloy parts which seems to work fine. If you want to be really fancy could they be annodised?

I was a bit concerned that ordinary paint might not stick too well (thats from my ignorance not from any previous knowledge).
Thanks for the idea, might need to do some research.
