Just copied from www.lancisti.com
Great link, and for those who have never tried it, how to turn into a skid!
There is another http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcuGReH52T0
a black & white clip which really shows Fangio's car control, don't know where the track is, but could you imagine the protests if F1 today had to drive on a surface like this.

Another nice find Brian! The way he goes flying into those corners, the mininal gear changes, the totally unruffled appearance!

Another film which I can watch time and time again:

Especially the second part, in slow motion, after 2 minutes!

Also has a Ferrari badge on the nose. Always thought the cars without the faired in tanks were pre-Ferrari takeover, or did they run them like this for a while anyway? Have to re-read my 'Rivals' book. Still, at least the ashtray he's using to demonstrate techniques is shaped like a Lancia badge.

At this years Goodwood Revival the D50 replica which raced ( ex Anthony Maclean and now owned by Steve Tillack?) had a Lancia badge on the nose but Ferrari decals on the side whereas the other replica there ( a Bamford car with the green nose?) had Ferrari badges on the nose and the sides. I think that when Anthony Maclean owned the first car there were no Ferrari badges on it?
In spite of this, the D50 racer was Jacky and my favourite car there by far........but was surpassed by the Red Bull highly polished Lockheed Lightning twin prop fighter which looked nearly as good on the ground as it did in the air.
Our 3 years old (on Sept 10th) grandson, Freddie's highspot of the Revival was sitting in our friends Brabham BT14 in the paddock , surely one of the prettiest single seaters ever made.
