Do we take it that he doesn't like Citroen DS's? but it does pose a couple of questions, are DS's naturally weak and tear in two in a side impact, or have they been weakened at that point to provide the spectacular footage?

I haven't had another look to check but all citroens with the hydraulic suspension sit nearly on the floor when the engine is turned off, a great feature with them  with the engine running and the pump going was that you didn't need a jack, you just lifted it up to it's highest position then lowered onto an axle stand or a block.
Also very useful in the full up position for fording small rivers, streams and floods
