No connection to the seller.

If you're seriously interested in buying a car off eBay I'd recommend going to see it first. That way you can ask if there's a reserve and maybe if it's for sale elsewhere and buy through that advert. Saves the seller commission....  Wink

There is a number plate inside the car which looks like TFR 40J or 43J or even 143J i've just tried them all in a vehicle check and nothing is coming up. I remember dvla used to apply current registration numbers to imported vehicles before they changed to age related so if it was imported in 1971 they would issue a H or J plate, just a thought although as Brian said, it does look like alot of work and probably only worth using for those rare parts?

A freind has enquired about this Flaminia.  The engine number is a 3 choke weber carbed one from a Flaminia pf Coupe 2.5 3B!

These are very classy cars and their value will rise over the next few years.  To put it in perspective, a steering wheel from a Touring Flaminia (like the one in this car) sold for 800 euros on Italian ebay not so long ago.  Restoration will certainly be a massive task but if done well, the car will be worth around £30k when finished.  I would say that in this condition it is still cheap at £1,700.

That sums it up though. A steering wheel at 800 euros. No way that can be restored and be "in credit".

If you look closely at the picture of the "interior" there's a rear number plate in the pile which might give a clue to previous ownership and allow the new owner to obtain a log book? (TRF?48J)Still probably a labour of love but I hope that posts hinting at the steering wheel being worth €800 don't tempt anyone to buy this car with a view to breaking for profit...

I'm buying a lottery ticket this weekend. Keep you fingers crossed, it's for a good cause. ('cause I'd love it! Grin)

I sincerely hope that my comments do no encourage that kind of vandalism.  Surely this forum is frequented by enthusiasts.  Incidentally, there is a touring Flaminia or sale at "The Gallery" - http://www.thegallerybrummen.nl/en_EN/autobedrijf/collectie/2892339/details.html - 61,500 euros - but their prices are always very high - and there are a couple of photos of the car undergoing restoration which may be of interest.

Bidding is up to £6000 - that seems quite a lot for a car in this condition?

It sold for £6,000, a very good price for the seller for a car with so much missing and the wrong engine!

sold for 6 then.if the buyer has some surplus spares and  for this model already and other resources i suppose it is a reasonable buy[was it ever going to go for much less?i expect i will be put right on that question].hopefully the buyer has had a good look at his /her new purchase and has things under control.after all if the[wrong] engine/box etc can be made to work without any major costs that could save what could have been a bill equal to the purchase price+more i suppose.work to be done.i hope to see the progress if it is now in the LMC-or perhaps it will end up at a dealers if there is any markup worth having.best regards richard
