thanks Stuart,i have not seen them,but i do know a local chap who has a spare pair.i dont have email but can obviously receive PMs.best regards richard[ps -what i do need is exhaust/2 tyres/better cond doors and rear wings or wheel arches and a steering wheel as pictured on p76 of the lancia fulvia and flavia by weernink-the type with the semi cicular chrome horn push ring also fitted to some flavias?]

Looks like each spring has just four leaves. Is that normal for an S2 berlina? My coupé had six until I removed the bottom, smallest one which unlike the others lacked tapered ends. In the pics here there seems not to be a leaf nearly as long as the longest but lacking the eyes, as coupés seem to have. Am confused.

hi John,what effect did the removal of the bottom leaf have?one of my bottom leaves was broken!i have used the best of what i was left with + the lower mileage spares as pictured.the plastic material between leaves has survived to be used again with some grease on the mating faces of the leaves.so those with new handbrake parts have improved the rear corners.next job is to finish fitting new front lower wishbone bushes[the purple things in the pics]and getting the centre/rear parts of exhaust system replaced with new/used/fabricated parts.best regards richard

I took the bottom leaf off to lower the ride height slightly, because S2 coupés sit too high at the back. This effect is made all the more obvious by the front spring's tendency to sag over time. Removing the leaf has fractionally softened the spring, but that's no bad thing as it's arguably too stiff for a light-tailed coupé. It feels fine with five leaves, certainly isn't soft and still (unfortunately) sits slightly higher than an S1 coupé. Removing a leaf is probably not a good idea in a berlina, though, given that it's heavier and you'll no doubt be carrying people in the back.

hi John, luck always very welcome!what i did to lower the rear and front springs on my old track s2/3 coupe [pictured in the other thread]was fit an extra middle leaf [inverted] to each.i also had to shorten the rod which connects the brake bias valve to the rear axle as the adjustment mechanism ran out of travel.best regards richard

hi Jonn, i dont think so.if i remember correctly it just flattened the springs as if[in the case of the rears]the boot was loaded to max but without the weight actually being there if that makes sense.it worked well in practise anyhow.if any spring rate experts could explain how this method works in theory i would be pleased to listen!also on the subject of theory does anyone know what size a normal [courser thread]nut would have to be to equal the fastening properties of the fulvia front hub nuts- as the extension bar i used today was long enough to undo a nut three times [?]the diameter and i still had to destroy the nut to get it off.best regards richard

many thanks for posting the pics Brian.those unidentified parts are the old lower front wings.i am glad to see the back of all of these tired 'round the clock' parts and am glad to be able to put to good use my spares which i thought would come in handy one day.those broken rear springs were particularly horrible-i wonder if they escaped the notice of the last MOT inspector a few miles ago?i am not sure what the carb parts are with the solex 35mm chokes /handbrake cover/rollbar supports-they came with some jumble.best regards richard
