Hello all, Can anyone please tell me the name and code or the colour of the 1954 Montecarlo Rallye winner?
This is for a slot racing car project.
Kind regards, Leo Capaldi

Hello all,
If anyone has a list of colours that were used on the GT that would probably help me identify the colour (light beige/cream I believe).
Kind regards, Leo

Leo - we're not being very helpful are we?! - I've always thought the car was beige / cream but I can't be any more definite than that. It was a 3rd series car and very few were ever sold here so the Italian club may be more able to help. Good luck!

Are you sure it was a 3rd Series. The car was protested on the 1954 Monte Carlo Rally after finishing with the lowest penalties. It was claimed the 2.5 litre engine did not match the chassis number, which, and I could well be wrong, was from a second series. Although 500 third series cars were homologated the actual Aurelia/Chiron car was an earlier second series 'works' car fitted with the later engine and not from that batch The protest went all the way to the FIA in Paris who eventually relented and declared Chiron the winner, three months after the Rally.

Leo - If I had to guess a colour and sound convincing about it I'd ask Adam Tindell for the colour name and code on his car.
For everyone else - where were these photos taken? I've cropped backgrounds a lot so few clues.
As to what series and engine the story I remember is that it was a 2nd series with the 2500cc engine, and the fact that it was given the nod back then is the reason that Tim Burrett can get FIA papers for his now.

Not sure on the first picture, but the second looks to me like the hill up to the banking at Brooklands.

Image two is the Test Hill Brooklands. Id take a guess at Le Mans Classic 2008 for image one.
