This is an Aprilia Special, built by Tim Britnell and featured in the 1978 LMC 30/50 event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the LMC. A photo by Roger Perry of this car with others has already been posted on this forum. It is scanned and in the LMC photo archive as LMC 44. It also features in the LMC film of the same event. Good to see the car still exists. Tim and the car were listed in the 1985 Members Register living in High Wycombe, but not in the 1991 issue. Who owns it now I wonder?
PS. Delighted to see Ade’s post and to learn that Tim Britnell still owns it and hopefully still exists!
PPS
I should have added the photograph from the digital (and searchable) archive – here it is below. And its caption is:
Line-up at LMC 30/50 event in 1978. Front row: the Chequered Flag Stratos, Barry Waterhouse in Fulvia Sport (Rastos), Tim Britnell in Aprilia Special. 2nd row: Barrie Crowe in Aurelia B20, John Savage in Aurelia B20 and Dave Scheldt in Aprilia. Roger Perry photograph.

I have added a photo to my earlier post on the Aprilia special. Some might want to look back to see.

Spotted yesterday and again today - the red Beta coupe. I was on my bike yesterday, and the lower speed gave me the chance to spot the car earlier and get the registration number - VEE616V. Both spots were on the road between Box and Chippenham, so I'm narrowing down where the car resides...

My dad saw a black (or could have been Lord blue....he is colour blind!) integrale yesterday in Whitby. He said it was on a J-plate.

Spotted a black (or very dark blue/green) Montecarlo with private plate and round evo style headlights crossing the River Severn via the New Bridge at Ironbridge at about 4pm this afternoon. Haven't seen a Monte in the wild for ages!

Went home to Milton Keynes to visit my parents at the weekend and saw a white Delta Turbo Martini at the junction of Millers Way and Great Monks Street on Saturday at about 4.30pm. A little bit scabby around the door bottoms but it still had all of its stripes. This must have been a Ganderton's of Buckingham car as its reg was F374 YRP, my Y10, also from Ganderton's was F368 YRP.

Seen in Chiswick yesterday lunchtime
A very rare Aprilia Pininfarina convertible (1939) owned by Ron Purbrick arriving at the Lambda Lunch (as advertised in the current issue of Viva Lancia!) Sadly, this lovely car suffered clutch failure just outside the pub and had to be helped into a parking space. Hopefully this was only a problem with the clutch linkage and all will be fixed soon.

That will have been Ian Headford, from whom I bought my Dedra Turbo. He's an LMC member, but not on the forum.

Spotted this morning (02/11/2009) a Silver Beta HPE parked in Dartmouth Park Hill near Tufnell Park in North London. As I was in the Trevi, I slowed down and waved as I was going past
