Had another Thesis moment in Shrewsbury again this afternoon. The same car that came to the AGM. It looks so good on the road.

Spotted this morning (02/11/2009) a Silver Beta HPE parked in Dartmouth Park Hill near Tufnell Park in North London. As I was in the Trevi, I slowed down and waved as I was going past Spotted again this morning (11/12/2009) in the same place but facing the other way. Which I make it to mean that it lives there and is in regular use as it's turned round But my Trevi started on just 3 cylinders this morning so I had to resort to German means of transport and hence I didn't wave going past this time

Another Lancia in Maidenhead is a rarity but I glimpsed a Lancia Kappa on the Bath Rd by Redroofs Theatre day school (where Oscar winners go) at 10.30 this morning. I was so astonished that all I can say it was dark blue.....whether it was the saloon or coupe I couldn't say. I will look out again next Saturday.

Sightings in Oz Having given Peter Renou his Appia Series 3 back after the Castlemaine Rally (many, many thanks Peter - can I run your Astura next time???) , I left the event in my hired Toyota Camry (better than you might think) and within 1/4 mile saw a black Beta Spyder - top(s) down driven by a fairly young guy with whom I asume to be his two small daughters in the back - AND THIS CAR HAD NOT BEEN ON THE CASTLEMAINE RALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jumped on the Victoria Goldfields Railway steam train for a bit of nostalgia - sat down in the ladies carraige (well it was the most comfortable) and got talking to a steam buff who had travelled some 1,500 odd miles to experience this train and when I explained that I had just been on the national Lancia Rally he immediately responded - "Oh my best friend in Queensland has a Lambda" !!! - OK not seen, but what a coincidence! About 3 weeks later in the Blue Mountains and goodness knows how many thousands of miles later I glimpsed a Lancia badge on a parked car as I swept by. Hard braking and a "Uie" saw me heading back in time to see that it was a 2000 Berlina but not in time to perform another "180" before the owner gunned it down the road - so near and yet..... - and this is in a country some 18 times larger than the UK which has not had a Lancia dealer imported car since about 1983(no deltas)!!!

I have a photo of that Lambda when it was white, taken in the 60s with other Lambdas, i think it may have been the Copa Monza.

Friday evening, 5.30, 18 Dec, and on my way to the Royal Albert Hall and spotted an R reg 16V Ypsilon in Sydney Street, Chelsea. Seen Lancia's in Chesea before and I put it down to the number of Italian restaurants that are there. Chef's with good taste maybe??

What Colin didn't say is that he is the driver who speedily delivered me and daughter to the wedding. The car hasn't been seen since.........
