I'd hazard a guess that its too far gone to be saved.  I've seen better cars broken and scrapped very recently - its likely, at best, to go for parts.

Yes, unless somebody particularly wants one.
I wonder how much it shares with the two 1500s ie: dashboard, instruments

Ok - I'll put my Delta anorak on then .....

The 1600GT was the first facelift of the Delta, and the 1300 and 1500 automatic followed suit. The 1500 manual gearbox cars were discontinued at the launch of the 1600GT, and the facelift concentrated on weight saving, cost of production and making the image of the Delta slightly sportier, rather than the emphasis being on a small luxury car.

Externally, the bumpers front and rear changed their profiles (to assist aerodynamics) and also to aid airflow, all models were fitted with a small spoiler at the trailing edge of the roof. The GT had matt black door handles and window surrounds, whereas the 1300 and 1500 auto retained the chrome of the earlier models. The tailgate lost the trim strip on its bottom edge, replaced by a pair of badges in the new corporate Lancia style.

Internally, the architecture of the dash remained the same, but the instrumentation was revised, as was some of the switchgear. All models also gained a new gear knob.

The carpeting was changed (cheaper) the front seats were simplified and new upholstery was introduced. The boot carpet was cheapened off, but central locking was made available for the first time on a Delta. Initially electric windows were an option, but they quickly became a standard fit as did a sliding steel sunroof.

Mechanically, the GT gained rear brake discs in place of the drums, and of course, the main difference was the replacement of the 1500 SOHC engine with the 105bhp 1600 DOHC unit.

The 1500auto was a shortlived model in the UK ( and I have never actually been sure if the later auto cars here were series 2's or if they were left over S1's) and the 1300 LX was introduced after about 18 months. It took the smaller engine but added the equipment of the 1600GT.

When the HF Turbo was launched in early 1984, it was listed on the Pricelist as two models. The HF Turbo at £7250 and the HF Turbo Executive at £7990. The Executive included Recaro seats, leather steering wheel, headlamp washwipe, central locking, sunroof and electric windows. However, only the Executive was ever imported, The "standard" HF turbo was purely an on paper price leader, and no cars of that spec came into the UK. Not quite sure how Lancia got away with it!.

So, finally to answer Steve's question, interchangeable parts between a 1500 and a 1600 GT - very little trim, nothing on the engine and all of the body panels. Hope that all makes sense!

Andy is that right? I'm possibly wrong (it won't be the first time) but were there not a few early white dealer demos in std spec with Martini Livery to celebrate the '83 WRC before the first customer deliveries?

I seem to recall an old What Car? supplement from that era with a comparison between the Delta & a Ritmo (sorry Strada) Abarth 130TC and this HF was in standard? spec.

Paul

Happy to amend to "hardly any standard spec cars came into the UK"

But, going back to the time, no magazine tested one, no dealers that I am aware of had one and certainly we couldn't get hold of a standard car to buy so had to settle for an ex-demo Executive. Over the last 27 years I have never seen a standard spec car in the UK and that includes a decade spent in the trade at Fiat / Lancia / Alfa dealers in the day!

My mothers car was one of the first cars into the UK (A230RKJ) which had been on the Lancar test fleet. That was Martini striped, and full Exec spec.

Cheers

Andy

Here's an ad for the HF Turbo which makes reference to both the basic £7,250 and posher £7,990 versions.

The one featured in the picture looks like it's the latter.
