Dear all
Well as you may already know, 2012 marks the 40th year since the launch of the first Beta way back in 1972. It also marks 10 years of Beta Boyz / The Beta Forum. Hard to believe I know.

In order to mark the year we aim to get press coverage like we did for the 35th anniversary, and also try to get 40 Betas together at as many of this year’s events.

Also we have planned a...LANCIA BETA 40TH ANNIVERSARY WEEKEND 25 -27 May 2012.

Open to all Lancias!

The weekend has been arranged at the very beautiful De-Vere Dunston Hall Hotel (5 Star) near Norwich for the tour to be held around the Norfolk Broads.  The Dunston is a beautiful Elizabethan Mansion set in 150 acres of wooded parkland with its own Golf course and spa facilities.

The weekend package includes dinner, bed and breakfast on the Friday evening, use of all spa facilities. A driving tour of the broads on the Saturday visiting places of interest. A Gala dinner on the Saturday evening and bed and breakfast and use of the spa facilities. The Sunday morning will be feature an Autojumble and prizes for the best Betas.

Please find attached a booking form including prices as well as terms & conditions of the whole weekend package to be returned to Amanda Dodge who can be contacted via the following: call 01823-461472, 07765523656, e-mail: elmtreehomes@hotmail.co.uk or post with an SAE to: 52 Jeffreys Way, Taunton, Somerset, TA1 5JL.

Please register your interest as soon as possible.

Best wishes
John Bower

Ps. If anybody is wondering why we have chosen Norwich it is because we hope to have friends from The Netherlands joining us  Grin

Amanda asked me to post this, as she is having Internet trouble  Sad

Hi everyone,

ALL LANCIA'S INVITED

The long awaited booking form for the tour day of Norfolk has arrived to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Beta model. I Have managed to secure a nice day driving round the broads taking in some nice sights and some great places to stop along the way incorporating plenty to do.

The day will start with meeting at the 5 Star De-Vere Dunston Hall Hotel (NR14 8PQ) on Saturday 26th May from 10am for arrival Coffee before leaving for the tour. At the end of the day we will arrive back at the hotel for vehicle judging, prize giving and the opportunity for some great pictures of your car at this Elizabethan Hotel. The cost is £18.00 per car (Two people per car), with a car plaque, tour guide, coffee on arrival and breakdown support from our forum members.  Final booking day is 20th April 2012 but I would be grateful if I could have approximate numbers as soon as possible. Two travelodges' are available 4 miles away nearby at NR9 3AU. Tel: 0871 984 6205. If anybody finds anywhere locally to stay that looks promising please post the details on the forum.

Any questions or anyone still 'umming' and 'ahhing' about coming along at some point in the weekend please let me know as soon as possible and I will see what I can do, the hotel has been great and very accommodating in helping me help you.

Hope to see you all there.

Yes, fantastic all round : well done to Amanda for organising it was just a great location and event!
One thing I noticed that was missing was our chairman's photos of the tables from Saturday night ? or were they just too good or were there no people actually in any of the photos ? Cheesy
Nice to stand out from the crowd and nice to have a crowd of Betas - never seen so many ... did you cover all the variants all ? I guess I ought to know the answer now after the Anoracks Guide ...

... and as a footnote I now understand JohnB's forum name !

My sincere apologies to all that the promotional gifts I sent by DHL (Damned Highway Larceny) which should have arrived on Friday, are still sitting in the East Midlands awaiting clearance....   Embarrassed

They also sat around in Amsterdam for an entire Friday night and the whole of Saturday, and only moved to the UK on Sunday.   Angry

Still, I hope we will get them to you all somehow soon.

Regards,

I'm glad to report that the gift parcel finally arrived last weekend (a week late!) and is now safely with John Bower.
