Yes you're right the convertible's colour is incorrect but the Flaminia - I know it's always difficult with these RGB screen colours, was made in a lightish blue I believe, no? I've seen them in similar colours before and I have a '64 colour press pic of a Flavia Sport in a near identical colour and it was a concurrent model.

The Flaminia blue just looks a bit bright to me, but I could be wrong.

I changed my mind about the two Lancias on closer inspection yesterday in Paris, to "no thanks" and not "yes please!"

They are both very tired and the Flaminia's body looked like it hid a number of (expensive) horrors.

Most of the cars at the sale (except the ex Vadim Spider Cal) needed serious rejuvenation.

Will be interesting therefore to see what they make...

B20B24...care to enlarge on the hidden horrors suspicions.......?

Very tired really means need fully restored again or interior refurbed or some thing not so costly?

So in effect expensive restoration projects.....easily spotable, will the final price reflect your findings, or do you suspect that people will just buy them regardless?

My observation is that some prices paid recently seems to work in a mad inverse proportion to condition - so called 'barn finds' making as much or more than very good cars, seemingly without regard to the cost of restoration.

So who knows - depends who's in the room. Certainly the guide prices were not low on these examples, you'd be looking at a very stiff bill from any specialist just to get them to MOT standard.

I find that a bit scary Clive.....not truly paying any attention to their true value, but just wanting to "have" them regardless.

If that is the case then their guide prices are realistic.....but for the rest of the world...seem quite high.

Are the auctions over tonight, results?

Yes, it's a strange world. Romance - putting your mark on the car etc etc. All emotions which carry no discernable value.

The white Flaminia SS at Bonhams I see made 150k Euros, I saw that car at Coys in Padova a few years ago and again it needed a lot of work but it was nicer than the Sport at Artcurial, so maybe their estimate is right.

I think Artcurial is not real time on results so in a couple of days...

The B24 made 202,000 Euros and the Flaminia 110 Euros, both premium inclusive.

This puts the Gooding B24 convertible into perspective as the difference between that perfect example and the one at Artcurial is about the cost of a professional restoration.

So...they need to spend the same again to bring it up to the Gooding convertible standard........much the same for the Flaminia, going by your experience and seeing them both first hand?
