I once convinced a man years and years ago, that the 5th cylinder in a Quattro was an 'idling cylinder'. It was a unique invention by the Germans. The idea was that in rallying, you could easily have a plug failure or drop a valve. then the 'idler piston' would kick in, and away you go. Bit like the spare coil seen in rally cars of old. He believed me.......

Looks like the Aurelia has crept under the bonnet again... or is it a Flaminheyna?

This Hyena has Sliding Pillar front suspension too!  Therefore it would be most welcome on the Sliding Pillar Rally.
But it would have to wait until next year as this years event is now full.

That's more like it. I have my 1971 1300 valued at the insurers at 12000 euros. That was 6 years ago too. I had it insured for £5500 in the UK, got on a ferry, sailed 30 miles and it went up to 12K. Shame, for a minute I thought I'd missed some dramatic rise in value and I had a 55000 euro car in the garage. But then I'd be scared to leave it anywhere. I still can't understand UK prices when you consider the rally and race heritage of a Fulvia. Try buying something like a Fiat 500 Abarth for £5000 (the old type).
