Here’s a backward look at Lancias in competition! I just happened to be searching through old stuff looking for something else and I fell upon a LMC printed flyer to invite new members to sign up. I think it must date from the mid 1990s. It includes the picture below of Lambda, Aprilia and Aurelia B20 (6 Series) racing – a photo that I don’t think is in the LMC photo library. None of the cars are familiar to me, but the location looks a bit like Snetterton.

It only goes to show how gullible and old sceptic like me can be when he catches himself out unawares!  I have had an email from Will How that explains the photo – Will wrote:

I am afraid it's a photo montage. The Lambda photo was from John Vessey which I still have and hope to use in the book. The Lambda and B20 are taking part in the 1985 Pomeroy and the Aprilia at a 1953 ‘8’ club meeting. I must be good for you not to notice.

I was fooled!

  naah, i'll have none of it Colin - why, you educated me on parts of the Fulvia steering system in the past that I didn't even know existed.

Surely that’s not true! I cannot believe that anyone, let alone me could claim to have more than Chris Payne’s encyclopaedic knowledge of all things Fulvia. Perhaps there was/ is some misunderstanding!
