The coupe that I've been working on for nearly six months passed it's Mot today with no advisories (although it's running pretty rough - good tune up required I think). Many thanks to all for advice and offers of parts, in particular to Brian Cates, who sold me the car in the first place and has provided many of the bits required (and apologies for my impatience!)
Will try and post some photos up when I can figure how to re-size them!

That's good news and the car looks great. How did you solve the problem you were having with bleeding the brakes and getting a good pedal?

Persistance! Not convinced it's 100% now but was good enough for MOT man. Seems to get better with use so I'm guessing rusty discs didn't help with the pedal "feel". Incidentally, I have a pair of skimmed discs amongst a job lot of spares I bought - how hard is it to swap them?

Rear discs need the hub removed and it is essential to have the correct tools to do this (hired or bought from Omicron).  I think the front ones are just held on by a couple of screws, cannot quite remember but otherwise the hub tool is slightly different!    New nuts also from Omicron should be fitted.  If the discs are too badly worn then there is no alternative to new ones (also from...)

Both front and back disks are bolts to hubs with 6 m8 bolts.

I'm confused now! So do the front hubs have to come off to replace the discs?

Well it's the stub that passes through the front wheel bearing that holds the disc.

and the hub.so with brake calliper to oneside  remove the hubnut first.then remove the hub and disc together.seperate hub and disc fit new disc and make sure it is true / properly seated.reassemble with new nut if required and recheck for tightness/proper seating after a roadtest

...using the correct hub nut tool from Omicron (or somewhere).  Normal spanners/sockets do not fit the hub nut and the   yoke which bolts onto the wheel studs locates the three pin "socket" that undoes the nut.
