A second Martini Racing LC2 (Roger Wills) has entered the Championship, so there were three LC2s to watch!
Unfortunately, it was a decidedly wet race on the Saturday morning prior to the 24hr main event and this precipitated (no pun intended!) a major crash on the Mulsanne between two of the C2 cars shortly after the start. As all rounds are a timed race and the clear up and barrier repair took up the vast majority, there were only a handful of laps of actual racing towards the end, approximately 15 minutes.
If you were watching the Eurosport broadcast from Le Mans Saturday morning, you will have seen that Roger Wills (5), who would be racing later that day in the 24hrs in a JMW entered Ferrari 458 Italia, finished 2nd overall and in class and also clocked the fastest lap on the last lap. Henrik Lindberg (11) finished 7th overall and in class. Rupert Clevely (6) finished 14th overall and 12th in class.
If you have subscribed to Eurosport Player, as I write this, the race is available to watch, entitled Le Mans Legends.
