MY 1600HF IN HEARTBEAT GARAGE

« on: 05 July, 2012, 09:53:01 PM »

Hello all, Ann & I were amongst the flood victims we all read about 4 weeks ago in Dol Y Bont West Wales. We have lost all furniture and basically everything downstairs. We have had to move out to a rented bungalow about 3/4 mile away. The Fulvia which has just had a glass out respray,  was in the garage at the time, being slowly rebuilt,  has taken in a lot of water. So my question is does anyone have a set of HF front seats that they may want to sell me, or know of a good upholsterer as my seats were leather. I will need a full carpet set and sound deadening too. So any ideas would be a good starting point. Worst thong was we were in Suffolk on holiday in our Vw T2 camper when we had the call from a neighbour, and had a 8 hour drive home. Want see our home and village, type in Dol Y Bont flood in to u tube. Thanks in Advance Roger & Ann. Sad Sad

Bloody hell - sorry to hear you were caught in it. What a nightmare. The only lead I can offer is there always seems to be plenty of carpet sets going on Italian ebay. Not sure about sound deadening - is that someting bought 'on the roll' and cut to fit?

Hi Roger

I heard your sad news while on the sliding pillar with James Parry et el.

Commiserations, and all I can think of is to give Brian cates a ring on 01202 593067. He does good Lancia trimming and has spares.

Best of luck

Sorry to hear that. Brian does good work.
Perhaps the seat damage is covered on your classic car insurance?

Not covered by ordinary household insurance?

Worth a shot claiming on house insurance. I've seen some kind of exclusion for parts of cars somewhere in some policy(ies). But don't let that discourage you, especially in circumstances where you are going to have a claim in any case.

At last finished, and in time for the 50th, flew through the MOT with no comments  Grin Grin

Well done Roger, it's horrifying how long some of these jobs take !!!

Is there a flood alert system in Wales as there is in England ?  If so, it would be worth your while to register. Once bitten etc.

I hope the house is also fully reinstated and you are fully settled back in.
