You never know. It's not that long ago that this was a biggish price for one of these. And do the ones advertised for 20k actually sell, or if they do, sell for anything like the asking price? Of course the usual scam caveats always apply, especially when a price is temptingly low. |

As always, condition is crucial - the Flaminia coupe appears good value but who knows what it's really like from a bunch of web pics. I've just got back from Silverstone auctions, if I told you an (apparently) very good running, rot free Appia Zagato was available for £25000 (and unsold) you might not believe me.... http://www.silverstoneauctions.com/1961-lancia-appia-zagatoBut true. In a sale with at least 3 record breaking prices, and strong money generally, the high bid in the room was £24000 (below reserve) so remained unsold and was available post sale for £25000, as the owner decided he didn't want to take it back to France. The detail was very poor on the car with many non original parts, and whilst the body was unpainted (so for once you could see what you were getting), it was out of shape at the back, the bonnet seemed too large for the car so didn't fit, most of the glass was damaged etc etc

A friend Bob Seaney has one and it's a much nicer looking example than this, do my eyes deceive me or are the tyres larger than one would expect.  Brian 8227 |

Yes Brian I know Bob's lovely car, which is in another galaxy compared to this example. You're right the tyres are larger than standard. It's probably a fun competition car and the unpainted look has a charm, but returning it to standard spec would be a task and a half.
