It appears from a Reuters report that Sergio Marchionne has announced that the Lancia marque is to be dropped from the Fiat line-up.  Don't know what this means for Chrysler.

Less than ideal  news...having said that.....FIAT "dropped" the heritage aspect of Lancia some time ago......oh well

My reading of this is that Lancia will continue as a European 'badge' for Fiat's Chrysler products. I suspect we have seen the last 'Italian' Lancias but then Fiat seem committed to moving as much production a possible to their Eastern European plants anyway.

Don't know how this article adds up to the end, but for some I guess that would be better than a full American line up?!

Unfortunately it all seems a bit academic now just hope they don't dispose of the collection piecemeal anymore than they have already done so. Cry

My reading of the article is that there is almost no mention of Lancia whatsoever, apart from where the Delta is made.  Make of that what you will, but the GFC is clearly still doing damage.

And to think VL carried an article by him saying he was going to revive Lancia in 2005.....coupe de grace more like it!!!!

Met yesterday a sales guy for a big swiss dealer, who told me:

1. The marketing of all Lancia badged / Chrysler sourced cars will cease: this means no more Lancia Flavia (Chrysler 200), Lancia Thema (Chrysler 300) and Lancia Voyager.
2. The Lancia Delta will phase out
3. The Lancia Epsilon will continue, but under which name is unclear

From what I understood, this is valid for all Lancia markets.

Well they've been as good as dead with the way Fiat treated them since the end of the Thesis, but this is still sad.

Do you think all the world's Lancisti could get together to fkloat a company that would buy the brand name and rights to the development of the Fulvietta prototype! Just keep it simple, windy up windows, no Air con, no electric folding this or that, just technology where it is needed to make the car safe, fast and economical. Basically, do an Italian MX5.

Just a dream...

I've often wondered over the last few years what VW/Audi might have done with Lancia when you look at Skoda, Seat etc. Sacrilege I know suggesting a German company take an Italian marque, and I know nothing about the car industry but a lot about the quality of Lancias over the last century! I wonder what Vincenzo or Gianni would have done.

As for the Fulvietta, I was only looking at the pics again today. What they could have done with that!!

Ah well, dream on,

Regards to all

ps I'm off to Anglia Car Auctions in Kings Lynn tomorrow, couple of Fulvias there. If anyone else is going, my mobile is 07740586951, coffee's on me.

A little off topic, Derek did you go to the ACA earlier in the year when the Flavia convertible was sold?  if so, do you know who bought it ??

Enjoy the day and good luck if you are bidding.

Hi Andy

No I missed that one. I might make some enquiries from the regulars tomorrow. By thw way, anybody know what's wrong with the red Flavia convertible on Ebay, been reduced twice form £14995, now £9995, seems quite cheap now, and from what I know of them quite a reputable dealer. Now of course we're well off topic

The only surprise to me is that there's still a Lancia brand at all! Thought this would have happened years ago.

Agreed, the writing has been on the wall since Fiat aquired Alfa and withdrew Lancia from rallying. However the Nouvo Delta and talk of a return to RHD markets seemed to offer a new hope until Chrysler came along!
