Has anyone ever rebuilt the front wheel bearings? I have what appear to be a good pair bearings in hubs but would like to strip, clean and regrease them. Having removed and stripped them down I cannot see why they cannot be rebuilt. Admittedly I have access to pretty specialist kit and specialist people Wink but has anyone else tried this?

I had a complicated and irreplaceable bearing rebuilt for the Lambda rear axle by
HB Precision Engineers Ltd, Riverside Works, Honley, Holmfirth, Huddersfield, HD9 6PQ        Telephone 01484 665 116

I was pleased with their work and it cost about £100 including delivery, back in 2006.

Hello
A possible alternative to Phil's question - but proceed with caution
2 brand new Fulvia wheel bearings offered on e-bay.uk.  ITEM No. 330842666290 at £16-02 each.
Too good to be true? Probaly
The dimension shown, are certainly not for a Fulvia and the photo is for illustration purposes only.

Omicron replaced my N/S Front Wheel Bearing that suddenly started growling, putting the new one back wasn't the problem, but getting the old out was! Omicron won't even quote a time or price for the job as it depends on how long it takes them to get the old one out, in my case it was a long hard job, even with their knowledge and the right tools.
And the bill still makes me wince Cry
