Classic and Sports Car Magazine did a photo shoot in Wiltshire on Monday  Smiley
5 Beta's: HPE, Spider, Saloon, Coupe and a Monte

Talking to Russ Smith who's writing the article says it should be a 7 page, 2000 word article on the Beta range, not sure which issue yet, will update when we get dates.

Will be great for Lancia Beta to get in such a prestige mag.
I've uploaded a couple of my pic's on: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tonysphotos/

Cheers

Hi,

The Beta article will be in July's edition of Classic & Sports Car magazine (on sale 7th June)

The models selected range from the Sedan, Coupe, Spider, HPE and Montecarlo (sorry we couldn't find a Trevi).

The article will get the model some high profile coverage. Getting into a prestigious title like Classic & Sports Car is a major coup for Beta Boyz.

As always I would like to re-emphasise that we are always on the look out for high quality Betas for future magazine article opportunities as well as shows.

Just received Classic and Sportscar (July, never did work that one out)

There is indeed a nice 7 page feature on Betas, mainly on model history,
driving Impressions (all favourable!).

According to the article it was 9th April, 1980 and the front cover of
The Daily Mirror that saw the start of the demise of the Beta and as
we all know ,Lancia in the UK.

I wonder if a copy still exists? If so,perhaps Jack could reprint it in VL it
would be interesting to read the story, even if it was mainly false, that kept
Lancia out of the UK for 18(fingers crossed)years.

Steve
P.S Looking forward to the Giro this weekend.

Good write up, pity they didn't have a volumex! Sad

If no one else has a copy, the National Newspaper library at Colindale in London will have it.
