And it need restoring!!!!

Well, that's the thing I suppose : it's unrestored and only 28k on the clock !

It doesn't need restoration, it needs conservation!!
Compare this one with the over restored, non original colour, non original wheels one that RM sold for $825,000 last weekend.
If I was spending over £500,000 on an Aurelia Spider I know which one I would rather have.
(The $803,000 included commission)

I agree so much on that Ade, that's why I bought the Delta LX I did and that's why it's staying as it is

I cannot see how you can do conservation on that spider. Judging from the photos on the Gooding website, it is too far gone. It needs a complete restoration, by the best people.

If you assume you do it all for 250'000 USD, ballpark figure, this gives the happy buyer ownership of the first 1 Million Dollar Aurelia spider: congratulations!

I still hope we will in a few years see it driven and enjoyed on the road, and not just on trailers or shipped from Pebble Beach to Villa d'Este.

Two considered or baseless views of the time? Or two people who just re-inforce stereotypes of Italian cars of a certain ilk?

When they go to a certain age/state....where they rubbish  as any worn /neglected car of any type might be....or?

Or, they were people so utterly biased against anything not home grown to be completely set against anything foreign?

Good to see a Spider in America with the 'normal' 4th series wheels - so much nicer than the wires that most auction cars seem to have now. They really have moved in to the trophy category now so I wonder how much mileage these cars will do in the future.....but perhaps that's not important to the buyers. Anyway, the B20 is a far more practical proposition if you want to go Grand Touring!
