Reminds me of David's B20 recreation for Mathilda (second name "Aurelia"). She still loves this model and indeed, even from an early age you can see how she is keen to check out the 50:50 weight distribution !

The wooden models were all made by David Laver. After M was born, I asked him to make a model of our B20 for her - he and I both owned Aurelia 609 UPH at different times
I love the D50 and transporter !!

not to throw cold water on this, but are you sure of the date? The cars were given away to Ferrari in July 1955, so somehow a 1956 Lancia transporter with a D50 doesn't make a lot of sense....

Date now corrected thanks GG. The picture caption reads - "The Lancia mechanics push Eugenio Castellotti's D50 Formula One car towards the paddock prior to practice for one of the first races of the season. Pau, a large city in southwest France, is one of the few European venues where, like Monaco, races were held on city streets. The Lancia debuted in late 1954, but it's success was limited. By the time the car was competetive, the competition from Mercedes and Maserati was overwhelming. Lancia also had major financial difficuties. In early 1955 Ferrari took possession of the team" richard

La Lancia tells us the Lancia trailer was built on a modified Esatau bus chassis, and following service as a horse trailer was scrapped in the 70's. Another racer here from the Mille Miglia
