Why do I love that so much?

It can only be that it looks like a very very very very very long car rather than a coach with no roof.

Love that as well.   There was a fleet of similar for high speed delivery of newspapers.

THAT reminds me the delivery bike riders had (maybe still have) an annual race.

I remember the paper delivery vans racing at Brands Hatch. Can't remember if it was Star, News or Standard, though!

I think the Vignale Lancia Bus ia a coachbuilt bulk millk delivery truck. Hence "Central Latte"

Dave you'r right, on page 118 of 'Camion Lancia' there is a photo of it and the caption states' "The Esatau 703" designed by Michelotti for the Turin Milk Marketing Board had been considered efficient but too expensive, so they settled for a fleet of "Esadelta Cs" bodied by Rolfo and inspired by the design of that prototype" interesting as what looks like windows on the sides in the drawing are actually roller shutters.
If you haven't got a copy of "Camion Lancia" it's well worth having
