Being impressed by these new floor sections, I wonder whether you have tried making any sections with the circular pressings in them.

Simon , I think we're all "jealous/envious" of each other, if I could I would have a lambda , your van, fulvia zag 037 s4 another integrale blah blah blah, big problem is ALL Lancias have some sort of appeal and i'd love a bigger collection however.......you can only drive 1 at a time

cars still coming along but slowly due to the amount of work we have on customers cars (I'm NOT complaining though!!) floors and sills are pretty much finished, boot floor is another story, patch on top of patch and a real mess, I decided to bite the bullet and just cut it all out and start again, I've made an intire boot floor for the car and at the moment I'm making the center cross member that the panhard rod attatches too as even that was pretty much beyond, its taken 2 days to cut the floor out as it was such a mess, floors not fitted yet but hopefully will be in the next few days........if I get time

Good to see !!
You'll have confidence in it.
Watching a car chase someone suggested my car being strong enough to "take some air" could be an ambition. Yours will be ready for a Safari rally.

I must have cut 25kg of armour plate out of the car that someone has put in thinking they have made it strong when really the car was far weaker than standard, now it will be exceptionally strong with the sill and A post areas properly "beefed up", all this rear end work is standard just slightly heavier gauge steel so when painted will look "factory" the main thing is that the whole car is now seam welded in all the weak areas that are prone to failure so hopefully it will never go again, putting all the pressings back in the replacement panels has really strengthened up the panels too , on the whole I think it will make a very good car in the end and I've thoroughly enjoyed all the metal work, next week should be the big hand over to phil (my painter) for him to start the prep on the shell, all the alloy panels are done and in prima , underneath is just seam seal ,etch prime anti stonechip and colour and exterior is about 3 wks of prep and prime etc before colour, I doubt it will happen that quick as we have lots of customer vehicles either in at the moment or due in in the next few weeks mostly for major surgery and they will need priority over my toys

I've been following this with great interest. If I had the money for an HF I'd be chasing you now to sell it to me! That way I'd know I had a really well prepared car. As a layman though, I have to say it's all beyond me how all this work is done. I can't even imagine what's involved. I wish I did because it must be very satisying to own a car that you have brought back from the dead (which is why I like the fact David is saving that gorgeous Flavia Z). If I tried it would take me my whole life and the result would look like Father Teds panel beating efforts. Out of everything you've done though one simple thing puzzles me - how do you eventually get rid of every little trace of rust from a whole shell before the paint goes on?
