Amazing progress but now I'm feeling a little sad, this thread is approaching the end, won't be long before it's on the road. Same for the Appia Furgoncino, we're only going to be left with the South London Sport thread to follow…. Who am I kidding! James will soon start another rescue project thread! Guy

I have a little progress to report on that one - and the Augusta. As ever with me its sorting the photos out... A friend was laughing yesterday that I have "a camera" not a smart phone.

Cannot believe your story about the bolts/parts for plating ...... well done ! hmmm big debate in work on this topic this week, phil wanted to use 2k epoxy prima (very American) and I refused, the system I use I know works and more importantly LASTS!!!!! I use a 2k etch prima which is not really 2k as it has no hardner , its very miss leading and prefere to call it 2 part etch prima as you add an acid/thinner to it and you use it as a wash prima rather than high build, eventually this will be scotched and over coated with 3m sprayable sealant then over coated whilst wet with prima and colour "wet on wet" , I always etch prime bare metal steel or alloy as I have seen 2k prima flake off bare steel from lack of adhesion , j

Guy Guy still a long way to go on it yet! I would like it to be finished in the next 3>4 months however customers cars take priority, also I still have a nearly finished aprilia and ardea pickup and atleast 4 more of my own cars to do and 3 of my dads, so if was lucky enough to do 1 a year (unlikely) i'll still be posting for a while!!!!!

So much (immaculately reproduced) new metal - when does a restoration become a replica?? Only joking!

David, I would draw the line at BMC/MG type restorations that still retain their originaiity on paperwork after having complete new bodyshells !! It's one thing replacing a body when you have a seperate chassis, but totally another when it has an integral chassis even though the running gear is original. Brian 8227
