Steve - this is what it was like round the car most of the time the bonnet was up. Very busy.
Also another photo that really shows how much the engine protrudes above the wings.
Finally one of James in his Rally Legends T-Shirt

Yeah, the bump on the bonnet is there for a reason - unlike the 1300 which has a walk-in engine bay

Yes indeed, a wonderful show. A credit to those who put it all together and especially Steve and Margaret. It's incredible the amount of time and dedication these two put into the event for weeks before and after the show. Over the three days they worked tirelessly to ensure that those who bring the cars, those who staff the stand and the visitors are made to feel welcome and appreciated. They can rest assured that this year it was a job well done.
During the three days there was a constant stream of visitors wanting to discuss all things Lancia and to share their own experiences. It amazes me how many Lancias and particularly Fulvias are out there as yet unknown to the LMC. Most bizarre encounter for me was with the man who told me that he had a Fulvia Estate! He had grafted a Citroen BX back end on to a Fulvia Coupe and which he said looked pretty good. I hope that he will post some pictures here soon.
Robin.

Robin - talking of odd combinations. A chap from the Saab stand next to us showed me a picture of his Renault 21 turbo, in Monza red, complete with integrale Evo bonnet!
The Lantroen Fulbx sounds intruiging to say the least!

I must not forget to mention the invaluable contribution that Betaboyz and the Montecarlo Consortium make to the weekend, it's so much better when we can have the three clubs together to create a Lancia 'Super' stand.
Fantastic choice of cars and of course the usual great banter and camaraderie the whole weekend....even if we do have to keep an eye on our biscuits!!

Hi Brian. Thought 'Fay' looked particularly well turned out at the NEC. Nice to catch up.

Hi Brian. Thought 'Fay' looked particularly well turned out at the NEC. Nice to catch up.
Thanks Peter, I was very pleased by the interest shown in her. She is looking good but don't look too closely around the bottom as there are a few bits need attention now, but considering she was resprayed in 1998/9, as after all the dents were knocked out and primed she looked like a leopard! she's doing very well, had a bit of a scare on the way home as I'd just run into heavy traffic after passing the M6 Services when the fuel warning light came on, when I got to the M1 the traffic was near stationary, so I took the first turn off which is the Daventry turn for the A5, the A5 being a good alternative route home, but by time I reached an open filling station at Weedon, I was sweating Blood and "Fay" must have been running on fumes! I didn't fill up before taking her up to the NEC as we were requested to not have a lot of fuel on board, and I didn't see anywhere between the NEC and the M6. Brian 8227

Yeah, great pictures Tony and I like the ghosts too - although you can see that people do stop and read the information boards in the cars

Thank you again to Steve and Margaret for inviting my Aprilia on to the stand. I was very glad to be able to take part, and it was good also to renew acquaintances. On another stand meanwhile, that of the Allard Owners Club, I had the pleasure of meeting an old associate of my late father, who was mad on Allards, and have maybe been able to fill a gap in the history of an Allard Le Mans car that was there. On my fuel consumption, for those who are interested, I think I must have miscalculated on the way up, because going home I got the usual thirty or so to the gallon, doing sixty five on the motorway. Can you afford not to run an Aprilia? Ciao a tutti Cesare

I forgot to mention that while at the show on sunday I called in at the Pilkington Glass stand, to enquire if they could supply Fulvia Windscreens etc. They were very helpful and very soon came up with the answer, a new laminated W/screen for my 2c comes out at around £250, a figure that was far less than I was expecting, and for the Coupe comes out at just over £200, another Fulvia owner went over to see them about if they could supply a rear screen as well, he is about to have his removed and everyone who is working on the car are worried in case the screen breaks, then what do you do? He was assured that Pilkingtons can supply a rear w/screen as well, but I can't remember the price he was quoted. So no need to trawl ebay or the ads to see if you can find a windscreen any longer, you can get a new one with the added advantage that it's laminated as well. Very good article about Pilkingtons and glass for classics in 'Classics' December 2013 Issue 210. Brian 8227

Hi Brian
Just a cautionary note to this.
There was a discussion a while ago on the Betaboyz forum re windscreens for Beta Coupe/Spyder. Pilkingtons state it is available, but for whatever reason when one of the members had one replaced under insurance the glass just did not fit and was supplied direct from Pilkingtons. This saga went on for a long time and cannot remember if there was a satisfactory outcome (it was a while ago). The concensus was that the jig or whatever they use was not what it used to be or just plain wrong
..
I have no other knowledge of them than what was listed on the forum, but worth considering. Ideally anecdotal stories of one being supplied recently would be useful.
Peter
