Seen at yesterdays VSCC Snetterton Festival. Anyone know anything about it. Unfortunately the owner was nowhere to be seen and the bonnet was shut....

Hi Lulu

Yes I met this guy at Goodwood Revival on the Saturday. I had a long chat with him about the car, which he built himself. It's not a Lancia, he just liked the D25 look. I suggested he contact the club. I'm away at the moment, but as soon as I get home I'll have a look at my Goodwood stuff as I'm sure I made some notes and took a number from him,

Regards

I can see why he would want to build it but the bonnet in my opinion is a bit ugly. He obviously likes driving it though.

Very poor form to have racing numbers on display when the car is used on the road. Great looking car apart from the bonnet and the colour!

Saw a few competitors driving home with their numbers still on a bit worried by it getting dark and had come without lights.....priorities I suppose.

Derek,
Any idea what it's registered as? the DVLA site doesn't recognise it as a Lancia, and won't look it up without the Make and registration number.

Must be getting old because I just can't remember what he said it was based on, but the Triumph Herald mention rang a bell, I think it might be a Vitesse. I'll ring my son as he was with me at the time and his brain hasn't yet atrophied. Check the Vitesse bit Brian as it may be where you'll find the answer. Sorry to be so vague, typical musician I'm afraid.

No not registered as Triumph and as Vitesse is only a model that doesn't show either Roll Eyes

Thanks David, Yes the link worked, it does look as this could be the base with the addition of the ugly bonnet scoop.

Hi All

My son got back to me. Being a 20th century man I thought I must have written it down somewhere, but my son, being a 21st century man, had put the info into his iPhone!

We have a name, a Mr Toad, from Madaboutkitcars.com. I've found the following link on their forum: http://www.madabout-kitcars.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3128. I think having quickly looked at it that he is actually called Mr Towed! That's why he wanted a Lancia then! Anyway looks like it's maybe based on a Spitfire, Triumph presumably not Supermarine. Hope the link works and is useful, as I'm abroad at the moment so don't have time to read it all.

Regards
