Appia S1 - 2006 Turin centenary Car of the Century

Hello folks. As my impending move to France grows nearer and the date by which I must vacate my storage building gets closer, the need to move cars and parts on gets stronger! Besides the Appia Furgoncino that I sold to Simon last year, I also have another 'project' Appia - nowhere near as exalted as the Furgoncino, but a heck of a lot cheaper.
I have no pix of it as it is at the moment but I will try to take some soon. However, it is not pretty at present - I have bare-metalled it and then treated the bare metal surfaces with Fertan anti-rust treatment to preserve it, which goes black. But under the unprepossessing colour it is a sound car and a fairly easy project for someone who wants a cheap Appia for not much money. I will post some photos in a day or two, but for the moment here is the low-down:
Price £750 negotiable (it will be cheaper the sooner you buy it - I really need the space, so if someone calls tonight and says they will collect it for X pounds tomorrow morning they will have my undivided attention and they will get a BLINDING deal!).
PROS: Very solid underneath, mostly solid on the body Engine ran when we got the car and it has the sweetest gearbox and clutch of any Appia I have driven (only round the yard though!) Pretty much complete - there might be a few little bits missing but nothing major
CONS: Rusty in the rear wings, and the sills and door edges one side (I think it was facing the prevailing rain). Not too bad though, and I have ground most of it out Interior not great and no seats (but Don Cross promised me he could provide a set that would need reupholstering, for not too much money) Engine on 3 cylinders - almost certainly a ring (it usually is on Appias). Easy and cheap to fix, though. Various small dings and dents to the body Windscreen cracked
That's pretty much it, I think. It would make a great 'daily driver' - not worth trying to make a concours winner out of it because it would cost you a fortune. But if you took the bumpers off, did a basic job on the body, fitted some seats (possibly Corbeau or similar in front), and got the engine running, it would make a great knockabout car, and it is solid enough to go on for a long time yet (Appias don't rust too badly underneath).
There you have it - please contact me via the old westernlancia website or on alan (dot) wesson (at) atlas (dot) co (dot) uk

Sorry about the blank message - was trying to edit the previous one and I 'quoted' it instead. And now I don't know how to delete this, so please ignore it!

Sorry Richard - I'm afraid it is! Even I was surprised at how quick that was! Cheers Alan

I would still like to see some photos of "the one that got away" (for better or worse!) Hopefully the new custodian will be posting here. A sliding pillar Lancia for the price of a good book?
